” I fixed the “hurts my ears” issue for sure. It is much more sculpted and well-behaved now. Has better sustain (the germanium version was difficult to bias), is more versatile, tracks nicely, can be used for lots of different things, like I demo the splattery “Rocket” Pumpkins sound (best done with bridge pickup) and also embarrassingly tried to play Vai’s “For the Love of God” to demo its liquidy saturation using the neck pickup too.

Edit: the front end is actually a Big Muff style input stage, which then feeds into a low-gain Fuzz Face stage, then the octave divider, with lots of filtering sprinkled throughout and then more filtering at the output too. “
